Shannonigans By The Park on Ditmars Blvd has been on my radar for a while and I finally made it in today. Glad I did. This place is everything a great Astoria sports bar should be: lively, unpretentious, and genuinely fun.
The craft beer and draft selection is solid. Rotating taps with local and international options, so whether you're into craft or just want a cold domestic there's something for you. The food is no joke either. The wings absolutely live up to the hype and the burgers are real bar food done right, not an afterthought.
What really sets Shannonigans apart is the atmosphere. Multiple massive HD screens, great sound, and the kind of crowd that actually makes watching sports fun. If you're looking for a go-to watch party spot in Queens for NFL Sundays or playoff games, this is it. Outdoor seating is a great bonus when the weather is nice too.
The staff was warm and genuinely welcoming. You can feel why this place has been an Astoria and Ditmars neighborhood staple since 2022. They also do trivia nights, live music, and private party bookings which makes it one of the more versatile spots near Astoria Park.
Highly recommend for anyone in Astoria, Long Island City, Sunnyside or really anywhere in Queens looking for a sports bar with great beer, great food, and even better vibes. Already planning my next visit!!!
